Millennium Greenway Flooding Status

Bike on Flooded PathAfter periods of heavy rain and when the fields above the Millennium Greenway are saturated, the path is prone to flooding, sometimes to a considerable depth. The area likely to flood is under the A56 overpass between the A41 Ring Road and the path connecting the Greenway to Guilden Sutton. At times the Greenway will be impassable to pedestrians and cyclists. This means taking a diversion either along Mannings Lane North and The Street, or along the A41, Guilden Sutton Lane and School Lane to bypass the flooded section.

In order to provide path users with up-to-date information about the flooding status, the Chester Cycling Campaign is hosting this ‘crowd sourced’ web page which anyone can use to provide a brief report on current conditions. We invite regular path users to assist others by quickly making a report which details any flooding and the receding of any flooding. If it has been more than a week since the most recent report and the route is still flooded, then it might be helpful for a report to be submitted stating this.  Note that the website will provide a date for all reports automatically.

Please use the comments form below to provide brief details, which should include an estimate of the depth of the flooding and the length of the flooded section, as some cyclists and walkers with wellies may choose to go through the flooded area.  Thanks for your assistance!
